Father's Day card

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!®

I'm generally lousy at making masculine cards, so I'm not sure whether you would classify this card as an appropriate Father's Day card or not, but my Dad seemed to like it.

Ingredients

Card stock: Bermuda Bay, Whisper White;
Paper: Silver Glimmer Paper, Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper;
Ink: Bermuda Bay;
Stamps: Six Sided Sampler, Teeny Tiny Sentiments;
Other: Hexagon Punch, Word Window Punch, Small Heart Punch, Whisper White Baker's Twine, Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons, Basic Rhinestone Jewels, Expressions Thinlits Dies (from the Christmas catalogue).

Colourful Papillon

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!®

This stunning card was inspired by Andrea Walford.  I used the brayer to create the beautiful shades of colour on the front and medium panels.  I then used the Circle Framelits to cut the different sized circles and stamped butterflies from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set in Staz-on Ink.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments.  Although you can't really see them in the photo, I put three little rhinestones in the centre of each butterfly and one on either side of the greeting.

Strawberry Slush Meadow

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!®

The top card was one of the cards we made at my launch party.  I stepped it up a bit to give to a friend recently.  The colours used are Strawberry Slush and Whisper White.  The stamp is the beautiful Wildflower Meadow and it was dry embossed with the Wildflower Meadow Embossing Folder.

To step it up, I added a greeting from Teeny Tiny Sentiments and punched it out using the Word Window punch.  I then layered it on a Modern Label.  I also added several Rhinestone Jewels to the flowers, bird and the greeting.

Mosaic Madness

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!®

We made this card at my recent launch party.  It is CASEd from one of Andrea Walford's cards, a very talented demonstrator from Canada.

It uses the new In-Colours of Coastal Cabana and Crisp Cantaloupe as well as Whisper White.  The stamp sets are Mosaic Madness and Label Love.  The punched out greeting was with the coordinating Artisan Label punch (buy this punch and Label Love together and save 15%).  The embossing in the background was done using the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder and the Big Shot.

Book to Look Cake

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!®

I made this card stock "cake" for my launch party that I held lately.  Anyone who booked their own party could choose a "slice" and inside was a voucher which they could redeem at their party.  I used Very Vanilla card stock, Raspberry Ripple 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon and some flower trim.  The design of the cake was from a video posted by Sam Donald, a demonstrator in the UK.

Decorated Tea Light

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!®

I decorated some battery-operated tea lights and placed them on the tables at my husband's 40th birthday party.

I used Indigo Baby and Pool Party card stock with some Pool Party DSP around the sides.  I used three different punches: 1-1/4" Scallop Circle, 1-3/4" Scallop Circle and the small one on top is from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.  I also put the small Pearl Basic Jewels on the small circles at the top of each candle.  I made about 20 of these.

Wildflower Meadow

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!®

The Wildflower Meadow stamp and matching Embossing folder (look closely - you'll notice that the image is raised) make it so easy to make a quick card.  I made this one for my husband who recently turned 40.  I thought it was appropriate for a male and he seemed to like it.  The greeting is from Label Love and was punched out using the coordinating Artisan Label Punch.

The colours used are Pistachio Pudding, Baked Brown Sugar and Whisper White.

Stippled Blossoms Congratulations

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!®

I made this card for my niece's First Holy Communion.  I love this set and I've used it in similar ways before. In the past, I've used it in blues and pinks, but never in yellows, but I love this combination of So Saffron and Daffodil Delight.  I highlighted the darker part of the flower by going over it lightly with my Two Way Glue Pen and sprinkling Iridescent Ice over the top.  The Stamp-a-ma-jig is almost essential when using the Stippled Blossoms stamp set, but the results are worth the extra effort.

Saying goodbye to...

This week, I'm saying goodbye to a few items in the retiring list.  I will be updating my business website http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/lornacasha/blog daily with different cards or projects made using retiring items.  These items will retire on 30 June, so you have less than a week to purchase any of your favourites.

This card uses the retiring colours Bravo Burgundy and More Mustard.

All other ingredients are listed on http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/lornacasha/blog

Florence

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!®

I've distressed the Baja Breeze Card Stock to give this page a vintage feel.  I used bakers twine around the ripped edges and spritzed some Riding Hood Red on the background.  All of the DSP is from Twitterpated.  Some of the ribbon used includes 1-1/4" Two-Toned Ribbon in Basic Grey/Basic Black, Seam Binding Ribbon in Baja Breeze, the 5/8" Flower Trim and the 5/8" Crochet Trim.  I've used several different punches to create the various shapes around the photo and on the page.  The button at the top right hand side corner of the photo is a Vintage Faceted Designer Button.  To finish, I added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

A lot of the items on this page are retiring at the end of this month.  You can still purchase some of these items in my online store - just click the Shop Now button on this page.

Castel Gandolfo

I've used the beautiful Twitterpated DSP for this double-page layout.  I also used the Artisan Embellishments Kit, Paper Flowers, 1-1/4" Two Toned Ribbon, Soda Pop Tops and the Collage Curios stamp set.  I added some Basic Jewel Rhinestone in the centre of two of the paper flowers.

Here is a close up of the resin flower in the Artisan Embellishments Kit.  I love this kit - it's packed full of beautiful flowers and hearts.  Only $16.95.  Product number 129328.  You can purchase it and anything else you see on this layout from here.

This is page 2 of my layout.  I've also used the 5/8" Flower Trim and the Scallop Envelope Bigz Die.  The paper flowers and the flower trim were coloured by being spritzed with a mixture of Riding Hood Red Reinker and rubbing alcohol.

Quint-Essential Flower

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!®

We made this card at last month's Stamp-a-Stack.  It uses 4 of the retiring colours: Pretty In Pink, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery and River Rock.  The Designer Series Paper is from the Subtles Paper Stack.  The focal point is the Quint-Essential flower which co-ordinates with no less than 5 different punches (I only used 3 for this card, but the possibilities are endless).  The greeting is from That's The Ticket and was punched using the co-ordinating Ticket Duo Builder Punch.

Faux Embossing Technique

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!®

The focal image for this card was made using the Faux Embossing Technique.  No embossing involved - just some White Craft Ink and Early Espresso Ink.  I've used the Forever Young and Petite Pairs stamp sets, with Whisper White, Early Espresso and Pretty In Pink card stock.  Punches used are Large Oval and Scallop Oval.  I also added a Basic Jewel Rhinestone for some bling.  You also need a stamp-a-jig for this technique.

Unconvention challenge 1

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!®

Some demonstrators who were unable to attend Convention this year decided to hold our own cyber event called Unconvention.  The first challenge was posted this morning and it was to do a water-themed scrapbooking page using the recipe of 4 photos, 3 colours, 2 embellishments and 1 Designer Series Paper (DSP).

My 4 photos are of Monaco's sea coast and I highlighted the title using some Dazzling Details Silver Sparkle.  My 3 colours are Riding Hood Red, Baja Breeze and Whisper White.
My 2 embellishments are some Flower Trim dyed in Riding Hood Red Ink and 3 Large Basic Rhinestones.
My 1 DSP is from Twitterpated.

I used the Hearts frame-lit dies to die cut the central photo.

Stamps: Oh, Hello; Itty Bitty Bits
Card Stock: Island Indigo, Pool Party, Whisper White
Ink: Island Indigo, Pool Party
Other: Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Hearts A Flutter Framelits, Rhinestone Basic Jewel, Iridescent Ice Embossing Folder

Summer Smooches DSP

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!®

The idea for this layout came from Paper Crafter's Library, although they used different DSP and a very different colour scheme.  I've used the Summer Smooches DSP and used Island Indigo card stock to matt the background page and the centre piece of DSP.  Other card stock I used is Lucky Limeade and Whisper White.  The buttons are from the Naturals Designer Buttons and I've threaded them using Early Espresso Bakers Twine.

Two-Toned Ribbon

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!®

I really love the way this card turned out.  It has such a whimsical feel.  I wanted to use the beautiful two-tone ribbon from the current seasonal catty, so I used the colours in that - Pink Pirouette and Rose Red.  Stamp sets used are Petite Pairs and Papillon Potpourri.  Punches are Large Oval, Scallop Oval and Bitty Butterfly.  I've added some basic jewel pearls to the butterflies and the sentiment.

Birthday Dress Up

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!®

I have fallen head over heels for the All Dressed Up bundle.  A card comes together in a flash when a beautiful dress is on the front.  The fabric I've used, Summer Smooches is perfect for showing off this bundle.  I've also used the That's The Ticket stamp set and the Ticket Duo Builder Punch for the greeting, which looks great with a small Rhinestone Basic Jewel on it.  The stamp on the base of the card is from the Bright Blossoms stamp set, which co-ordinates beautifully with the fabric.

In my next class on Saturday, we will be making a card very similar to this one.  I still have some spots left, so contact me if you would like to attend.

This is my first attempt at digital scrapbooking.  It was so quick and easy.  I used the free 30-day trial version of My Digital Studio and it only took me about 5 minutes.  I still enjoy real card stock, stamps and ink, but this was fun too.  To download your free trial, click here and select My Digital Studio.

All Dressed Up Fabric

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!

For this card, I used the Summer Smooches fabric to die cut the dress.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments, which was punched with the Word Window and then matted to a Crumb Cake Modern Label.  I used Rhinestone Jewels for the necklace and on the sentiment.  The belt is a small part of Silver Glimmer Paper.  The design on the Whisper White oval was embossed with the Fancy Fan Folder.  The base card is Real Red.

13 April 2013

Honeycomb Curios

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!®

This is another one of the cards that we made at my last stamp-a-stack.  I've used the beautiful new stamp, Collage Curios and the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  The ribbon is Wisteria Wonder 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon.  The label was made using the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set and Four Frames.  The colours are Wisteria Wonder, Pretty In Pink and Whisper White.

Twitterpated All Dressed Up

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!®

I'm loving the All Dressed Up Bundle which includes a stamp set and 3 coordinating dies (with a 15% discount if you buy both at the same time!).

I made this card using one of the framelits in the set and Twitterpated Designer Series Paper.  I used some Silver Glimmer Paper for the bottom hem of the dress and the belt.  The ovals behind the dress were die cut using the Ovals Collection Framelits.  The Whisper White oval was then embossed using the Fancy Fan Folder (I love that design).

The greeting is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments and I've used the Word Window and the Modern Label Punch, along with two small Rhinestone Jewels to help that to stand out.  The colours I've used are Riding Hood Red (only available while stocks last), Basic Grey and Whisper White.

Secret Garden

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!®

This is similar to a card made by Andrea Walford.  It's one of the cards we made at my last stamp-a-stack.  I love that the Secret Garden stamp sets has it's very own matching dies, so if you don't like fussy cutting, this makes life much easier.

Ingredients:

Stamp Sets: Secret Garden, Perfectly Penned;
Ink: StazOn Ink, Lucky Limeade, Primrose Petals;
Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple, Basic Black;
Other: Secret Garden Framelits, Basic Rhinestone Jewels, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing folder, Scalloped Trim Border Punch.

Something different

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!®

I watched a video from a demonstrator in the US, Lisa Curcio who made a card similar to this one, but using a different colour scheme.  The effect was stunning and I had to try it.  For this card, I've used Twitterpated Designer Series Paper, cut in strips of 12" x 1/4" and stuck in patterns across a piece of Whisper White card stock, matted onto Basic Grey card stock, then matted onto a Whisper White card base.  The greeting is from Perfectly Penned and is stamped in Basic Grey ink.

The Vatican

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!®

I created this layout from a challenge at Home and Scrapped.  It was a step by step challenge, where you're told what you will need in advance, but not told how to use everything until each step is complete.  I decided to use lots of Sale-a-Bration products because the colours go so well with the colours on the Swiss Guards' uniforms in the first photo.

I've used the Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper, the Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button pack, the Artisan Embellishments Kit, Lovely Letters and Designer Builder Brads.

Today is the last day of Sale-a-Bration 2013.  After this evening, the exclusive paper, buttons, ribbon, stamps, embossing folder, etc will no longer be available.

I made this card for a colleague whose birthday is coming up.  I've used lots of Sale-a-Bration products including the Feeling Sentimental stamp set, Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper, Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button Pack.  The paper and ink is Island Indigo.

If you would like to place an order, email me at lorna.casha@gmail.com.  For any orders over $100, you will not be charged postage and handling for today only.  I will be accepting orders until 11pm today.  Hurry!

Easter treats

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!®

I made these for the ladies that placed an order during February and March.  They are CASEd from a project by Dee Slater, a demonstrator in the US.  I've stamped images from the Bloomin' Marvelous stamp set (only available until Friday).  The bird is from the Bird Builder punch and the bird's wing is the Small Heart punch.  The window was punched using the Scallop Oval punch.  I put some Easter eggs in a cellophane bag (page 161 in the Annual Catalogue) and added some Daffodil Delight Taffeta Ribbon.

Faux Patina

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!®

This is one of the cards we made at last month's stamp-a-stack.  It didn't really photograph very well, but we  ran some Crumb Cake ink over the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder using a brayer.  We then ran it through the Big Shot with some Whisper White card stock.  Using a sponge we applied Old Olive and Baja Breeze ink along with some Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint.  This is called the Faux Patina technique.

The design on the Old Olive card stock was punched using the Scallop Trim Border and the greeting is from Vintage Verses - only available through Sale-a-Bration which finishes on 22 March 2013.

Madison Avenue

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!®

Only 2 weeks until the end of Sale-a-Bration.  These beautiful cards all feature Sale-a-Bration items - mainly from the Madison Avenue collection: Madison Avenue Stamp Set, Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper and the Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button Pack.

All the four cards on Summer Starfruit card stock were part of my stamp-a-stack last month.  They use the DSP and Ribbon and Button pack from Sale-a-Bration, as well as the Silver Glimmer Paper (which looks stunning with this DSP), Pretty Petites stamp set and the coordinating Petite Curly Label Punch.

The card on Tangerine Tango uses Patterned Occasions (also from SAB) and Red Glimmer Paper.

The Rich Razzleberry card uses the Bloomin' Marvelous Stamp Set and the Vine Street Textured Embossing Folder.

Hint:  The smallest flower in the Floral Frames Framelits collection (page 191 in the Annual Catalogue) fits around the flower on the Sycamore Street DSP perfectly - just another co-ordinating pair from Stampin' Up!

Happy Hello

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!®

All of the cards above use the Happy Hello Simply Sent Sale-a-Bration kits.  I decided to dress them up a bit more by adding some more embellishments.  The kit comes with 8 base cards, 24 yellow flowers, some Basic Grey Bakers Twine, 8 Basic Grey self adhesive strips and rhinestone basic jewels.  In the top and bottom cards, I added some stamped images from the Feeling Sentimental Sale-a-Bration stamp set.  I also added a Primrose Petals Dahlia and some Primrose Petals card stock to the bottom card, along with a strip of rhinestone basic jewels at the bottom.  The middle card came printed as is (4 of the cards in the kit have "Hello" printed on them).  The card stock is Daffodil Delight and the flower is from the Secret Garden Bundle.

The Happy Hello Simply Sent kit is only available when you spend $100 between now and 22 March.  It comes with everything you need to make 8 cards.  Additional embellishments are entirely up to you.  Either way, this is a great kit for a beginner or for those of us who are time-poor and need to make cards quickly.

If you would like to find out more, please contact me.

Patterned Paper: Summer Smooches;
Ink: Versamark;
