Woodgrain

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

It's my 5th wedding anniversary today.  According to a book I found, that means that the traditional gift is wood.  Instead of buying a present made out of wood, I made this card with a woodgrain panel.  I used the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on the Early Espresso Core'dinations card stock.  I then mounted it on some Cherry Cobbler card stock and wrapped some Early Espresso bakers' twine around it.

Core'dinations Cardstock

On the focal point of this card, I've embossed the Early Espresso Core'dinations Cardstock with the Lacy Brocade Embossing folder then gave it a light sand to reveal the inside layer of cardstock. Imagine how amazing this would look using the Woodgrain Embossing Folder. I'm yet to try the other two colours - Cherry Cobbler and Gumball Green, but I'm sure they would make a lovely Christmas card.

Happy Birthday Tristan

One of my friends is holding a party tomorrow for her son, Tristan's 1st birthday. I decided to pull out the very versatile stamp set, Fox and Friends to make his card. Along with a new set, Funky Four, which is where those cute little mushrooms come from. Once again, I've referred to the colour coach to find the colour combination of Marina Mist, Cajun Craze and Crumb Cake (I added the Whisper White to match the fabulous Organza Ribbon).

Stamp-a-stack

The lovely ladies that came to my class today have just left. This is one of the cards we made. I took the colours from the great new colour coach (see page 117 of the Idea Book and Catalogue). I just picked the base colour, found the card in the colour coach and took out the cardstock in the colours listed. It makes picking colour combinations so much easier.
