Saying goodbye to...

This week, I'm saying goodbye to a few items in the retiring list.  I will be updating my business website http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/lornacasha/blog daily with different cards or projects made using retiring items.  These items will retire on 30 June, so you have less than a week to purchase any of your favourites.

This card uses the retiring colours Bravo Burgundy and More Mustard.

All other ingredients are listed on http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/lornacasha/blog

Retired list

There is something for everyone in this year's retired list.  Place an order here.  Only available while stocks last, so hurry.

Quint-Essential Flower

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!®

We made this card at last month's Stamp-a-Stack.  It uses 4 of the retiring colours: Pretty In Pink, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery and River Rock.  The Designer Series Paper is from the Subtles Paper Stack.  The focal point is the Quint-Essential flower which co-ordinates with no less than 5 different punches (I only used 3 for this card, but the possibilities are endless).  The greeting is from That's The Ticket and was punched using the co-ordinating Ticket Duo Builder Punch.

Champagne Glimmer

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2013 Stampin' Up!®

I really love the Champagne Glimmer Paper that is only available for a few more days.  I've added it in a few places on this page (the thin strip along the top, the little circle behind the small butterfly just under that and finally along the strip of paper on the bottom left of the page).  The beautiful Designer Series Paper is called Twitterpated and the flowers were die-cut with the Floral Frames Framelits.  The butterflies are from the Beautiful Wings Embosslits.

If you're wondering what's going on in the photos, my husband and I are throwing a coin over our left shoulder into the Trevi Fountain - supposedly ensuring our return to Rome someday.  This actually worked in our case as we returned to Rome 3 years after these photos were taken - meaning that I'm really behind in my scrapbooking!

One more sleep

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

Only one more sleep before Sale-a-Bration starts.  Receive a free gift with every $100 you spend from now until 22nd March.  The cards above are another sneak peak of one of the stamp sets that you can choose with your order of $100 or more.  Once again, I've used the Festival of Prints DSP stack, along with some 1/2" Seam Binding ribbon in Cherry Cobbler and Baja Breeze and some basic Rhinestone jewels.

On the case that I made for these cards in the top photo, I used the Champagne Glimmer paper and the Mixed Medley stamp set.  All of these items (DSP stack, Champagne Glimmer paper and the Mixed Medley stamp set will be retiring at the end of this month).

Elegant Butterfly

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

The background on this card is from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper stack.  This stack retires at the end of this month, so if you don't want to miss out, order before then.

Everything else coordinates beautifully, as only Stampin' Up! products do!  The flowers were stamped from the Daydream Medallion stamp set and cut using the coordinating Floral Frames Framelits Dies; the butterfly was stamped using Papillon Potpourri and punched out using Elegant Butterfly.  Then there's the greeting which was stamped using Itty Bitty Banners and cut using the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies.  To finish, I put rhinestone jewels on each petal of the largest flower.

Colours used are Island Indigo, Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla.

Love this Designer Series Paper (Paisley Petals) which retires at the end of this month. The Posy Punch Hostess Set (the stamp set used to stamp the flowers and the 'Hello' bottom left of photo group) is also retiring. If you would like to order the Paper, or host a workshop to earn the stamp set, contact me on lorna.casha@optusnet.com.au before it's too late.

Old meets new

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

I've used some retiring items and some new items for this card. The retiring Big Top Birthday Designer Series Paper makes a great backdrop for a birthday card - especially a child's birthday. The stamp set is Memorable Moments which will be available from 1 September. I've also used the big shot's Framelits Labels Collection which will be carried over to the annual catalogue. All the cardstock and ink colours are from the Big Top Birthday DSP.

Lion Monument - Lucerne

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

One of my favourite scrapbooking sites, Home and Scrapped just had a build-a-page challenge, where 1 different person would provide a different step each day for 7 days. I took part and made this page using the retiring (sniff, sniff) Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper. I've also used Marina Mist, Soft Suede and Pretty In Pink Cardstock, Marina Mist Stampin' Write Marker, Pretty In Pink 5/8" Satin Ribbon, Subtles Designer Buttons and an Antique Brad. The letters were cut using the Simple Letters Alphabet Bigz Die.

River Thames

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2010 Stampin' Up!®

I found a Scrapbooking sketch challenge on Home and Scrapped and decided to give it a go. I've used some retiring products for this page, including the very versatile Windsor Knot Designer Series Paper and the Fabulous Fusion Flowers on p.144 of the current Idea Book and Catalogue. One of the best things about Stampin' Up! is that all the colours go together beautifully. For example, the Windsor Knot paper uses Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow, So Saffron and Old Olive. Once I picked out the paper to use, most of the colour choices were made for me, including the use of the cardstock, ribbon and flowers. The only other colour I added was Rose Red. I've used the Big Shot Timeless Type Junior Alphabet for the page Title in Chocolate Chip and So Saffron, and the great new Heart punch in the current mini. I applied the Jumbo Eyelets using the Crop-a-dile.

Big-Shot Brayering

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2010 Stampin' Up!®
I've had my brayer (page 156) of the current catalogue for ages, but I haven't used it much at all. Well, I thought I'd change that and I used it to make this card at my last class. Brayering highlights even more that you can do using the Textured Embossing folders in the Big Shot (page 11 of the current mini catalogue).
I've used a colour combination that is a little out of my comfort zone. I'm trying to use up my cardstock of retiring colours and the card has turned out a bit brighter that what I would normally be happy with.
To make the main feature of the card, I embossed the Manhattan Flower on Whisper White cardstock. Turned it over and brayered Orchid Opulence on the back. The result leaves a beautiful white highlight of the Manhatten flower. I also used the Perfect Polka Dots on the Yoyo Yellow cardstock.
Ingredients
Cardstock: Whisper White, Orchid Opulence, Yoyo Yellow, Handsome Hunter
Ink: Orchid Opulence
Stamp Sets: Picture This
Big Shot: Perfect Polka Dots & Manhattan Flowers textured impressions ebossing folders
