Two-step Stamping

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

I made this card using the Stippled Blossoms set as well as the Itty Bitty Banners and Bordering on Romance sets.  I love two-step stamping and Stippled Blossoms is a set which is especially suited to this technique.  This is one of the cards that we will be making at my next stamp-a-stack on the last Saturday of January.  Please contact me to book.

Merry Christmas

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

I've been thinking of trying this technique since the Holiday catalogue was released and I finally tried it out.  I stamped some snowflakes onto Midnight Muse cardstock using the new Illuminate Ink from Stampin' Up!.  Since it's a pigment ink, I thought that I'd be able to emboss with it, so I tried it using clear embossing powder and it worked!  You can't see the sparkle in the photo, but those snowflakes look amazing.  The tag was die cut using the Lots of Tags set and the silver glimmer paper.  I then punched the greeting using the Extra Large Oval punch.  The ribbon is Whisper White Organza ribbon.  To make all the snowflakes pop, I put some Basic Rhinestones in the middle.

Have a Merry Christmas everyone.

Emboss Resist

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

This beautiful card was made after seeing a very similar card in Paper Crafter's Library.  I've used the Snowflake Soiree and Petite Pairs stamp sets.  The main panel started off as a Whisper White piece of card stock, but once I'd embossed the snoflakes, I sponged over it using Baja Breeze.  I then added Iridescent Ice (because you can never have enough sparkle at this time of year).  The sentiment is on a panel die cut from the Apothecary Accents Framelits.  I then added Basic Rhinestones to the centre of each snowflake and to the sentiment panel.

Christmas Glimmer

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

I CASEd this card from Marelle Taylor who made a very similar card using Whisper White on Whisper White card stock.  I used Midnight Muse as my card base and a Midnight Muse Stitched Satin Ribbon.  The sentiment is from Snowflake Soiree.  I love the glimmer paper which is currently available in the three colours I've used on the card - Red, White and Champagne.  I punched the glimmer paper out using the 1-1/4" square punch and the Whisper White pieces were punched out using the Postage Stamp punch. The little windows on each of the Whisper White panels were punched using the Merry Minis punch pack.  I then added three Basic Rhinestones under the sentiment.

I made this card for some of my family and friends.  I've used Very Vanilla and Cherry Cobbler as the colour theme.  The patterned paper is from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack.  The little ornaments were punched out using the Merry Mini punches and the Champagne Glimmer Paper.  The greeting is from Bells & Boughs which is probably my favourite Christmas stamp set this year.

Christmas class crackers

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

I made these as a gift to all the ladies that attended my class a couple of weeks ago.  It was the last class of the year, so I wanted to make it a bit more special.  Inside, I placed little chocolates for everyone.

I made the crackers using Cherry Cobbler card stock, Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack, Champagne Glimmer paper, Mixed Medley hostess set and Gumball Green 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon.

Cupcake birthday

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

I CASEd this card from a card made by Connie Stewart (a demonstrator in the US).  I thought it was so cute, so I made it for my friend's daughter.  I changed a couple of things such as the cherries and the awning, which she made using the Rosettes die, but I used the Scallop edge punch and Simply Scored.

Ingredients
Paper and Card Stock: Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Red Glimmer Paper
Ink: Early Espresso, Raspberry Ripple, Pretty in Pink
Stamps: Create a Cupcake
Punches: Scallop Edge, Word Window, Cupcake Builder
Other: Frost White Shimmer Paint, Simply Scored

Assisi

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

This is a layout of the day Ben and I spent in Assisi.  It was the first day on our tour that we had really lovely weather, which is why I've used such bright colours.  In the last two photos, I've highlighted the use of Dazzling Details, which is a new product being sold by Stampin' Up!  It leaves a nice glossy finish and it's perfect to highlight details such as flower petals and (in this case) the title of the page.

Ingredients:
Paper: Daffodil Delight Card Stock, Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper, Tangerine Tango Card Stock;
Accessories: Dazzling Details, Bitty Buttons, 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon Lucky Limeade, 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon Daffodil Delight, Pearl Basic Jewels, Paper Daisies, Tangerine Tango Marker, Little Leaves Sizzlits Die, Full Heart Punch, Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Sizzlits Dies (retired), Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.

This is the make and take we made at the party last week.  That beautiful tulle ribbon is only available until January 2013 and comes in three colours - Cherry Cobbler (used above), Crumb Cake and Early Espresso.

Ingredients
Stamps: Four Frames, Bright Blossoms, Elements of Style
Card Stock: Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
Ink: Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: Cherry Cobbler 3-1/2" Scalloped Tulle Ribbon, Decorative Label Punch

Simply Sent App

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

Stampin' Up! released a new app for Apple* users yesterday.  It's free and it's really easy to use.  It's called Simply Sent.  It's actually designed to help you make digital cards that you can then share on social media or email to your family or friends.  Here, I've used it to make a scrapbook page.  It's only my first attempt, so it's only a very simple page, but I can already see the possibilities.

Click here to access the app

*Unfortunately the app is not yet available for Android devices, but hopefully soon.

Faux cushion technique

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

I first saw this technique on Pinterest - note how the top of the card looks like a couch cushion?  I've used the Diagonal Scoring Plate at 1-1/2" intervals and then placed some Basic Pearl Jewels on each cross-over.

The beautiful paper at the bottom of the card is from the Festival of Prints DSP (only available until 31 January 2013).  The ribbon is the Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon and the greeting is from Petite Pairs.

Heartfelt Stampin' Up! event - Sydney

I've just spent the day at Stampin' Up!'s Heartfelt event in Sydney.  The day was just about perfect.  I caught up with some old friends, made some new friends and learnt some amazing new techniques.  It was wonderful to see all the demonstrations.  I love being a part of the Stampin' Up! family.

Christmas gift tag box

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

This was the second lucky door prize I had at the party on Sunday.  I put 4 gift cards with envelopes into an embellished box.  The gift cards were 6" x 3" pieces of cardstock, folded in half.  I then put a piece of DSP on them, some Glimmer paper and a greeting.  I covered the box in DSP and decorated the front, then I sprayed the box with a mixture of Shimmer Paint and Isocol.

Ingredients
Stamps: Mixed Medley, Merry Minis
Paper: Whisper White, Be of Good Cheer DSP, Red and White Glimmer Paper
Ink: Gumball Green
Punches: Merry Minis, 3/4" circle punch, 1-1/4" scallop circle punch
Accessories: Basic Jewels - Rhinestones, Gumball Green 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon, Frost White Shimmer Paint

Papillon Potpourri treat box

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

I made this treat box as a lucky door prize for a workshop that I had on Sunday.  I'm really loving the Papillon Potpourri stamp set along with the matching Elegant Butterfly punch.  What do you think of this colour combination - Melon Mambo and Pretty In Pink?  The greeting is from the Mixed Medley hostess stamp set and the Victoria Crochet Trim holds it all together.

Simple card

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

This was the other card we made at yesterday's stamp-a-stack.  It uses the beautiful 3/8" stitched satin ribbon which is currently free with any purchase of $60.

The butterflies are stamped in Calypso Coral - inked once and then stamped three times to get the three different shades.

While the Christmas card we made took a while, this card was really quick and easy to make.

Ingredients:

Card Stock: Calypso Coral, Summer Starfruit; Whisper White;
Ink: Calypso Coral;
Stamps: Parlor Prints background stamp, Papillon Potpourri, Mixed Medley;
Punch: 1-1/4" Scallop Circle;
Ribbon: Summer Starfruit 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon

Christmas Diamond Fold Card

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

This is one of the cards that we will be making at tomorrow's stamp-a-stack.  I've used the diamond fold technique as I thought that it would make a Christmas card really stand out from the norm.  I'd love to know what you think, so please leave a comment.

Ingredients
Card stock: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Champagne Glimmer Paper;
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green;
Stamps: Snowflake Soiree, Bells & Boughs;
DSP: Be of Good Cheer;
Punches: 2-3/8" Scallop Circle, 1-3/4" Circle;
Tools: Blender Pen, Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Simply Scored Diagonal Plate, Sponge Daubers

Diamond wedding card

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

My brother asked me to make a card for him to take to a wedding in Bali in a couple of months.  I thought I'd try something a bit different to the traditional card fold and made a diamond fold card.

Ingredients:

Stamps: Petite Pairs, Twitter Pated
Ink: Riding Hood Red
Paper: Designer Series Paper Stacks - Riding Hood Red, Twitterpated
Cardstock: Riding Hood Red
Big Shot: Floral Frames Framelits die
Punch: 2-3/8" Scallop Circle

World's Greatest

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

This is the other card we made at my stamp-a-stack last Saturday.  We used Lucky Limeade, Melon Mambo and Whisper White card stock, Melon Mambo ink, Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon and a Designer Ribbon slide from the Holiday Catalogue.  The base card is embossed with the Lacy Brocade folder (also from the Holiday Catalogue).  The stamp is not in a set - just the one on it's own and is called World's Greatest.

Christmas Joy

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

This is one of the cards we made at my stamp-a-stack on Saturday.  I've used Not Quite Navy, Whisper White and Cherry Cobbler Core'dinations card stock.  The core'dination was embossed using the Holiday Frame and then sanded down to reveal the core of the card stock which is a lighter shade of the Cherry Cobbler.  The stamps are from Joyous Celebrations.

It's Spool Time

Woodgrain

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

It's my 5th wedding anniversary today.  According to a book I found, that means that the traditional gift is wood.  Instead of buying a present made out of wood, I made this card with a woodgrain panel.  I used the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on the Early Espresso Core'dinations card stock.  I then mounted it on some Cherry Cobbler card stock and wrapped some Early Espresso bakers' twine around it.

Step by Step Challenge

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

This is the page that I made for Home and Scrapped's September Step by Step challenge. I've used the Subtles DSP Stack and the Pretty Postage stamp set. The colours are Rose Red, So Saffron and Wild Wasabi.

Core'dinations Cardstock

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

On the focal point of this card, I've embossed the Early Espresso Core'dinations Cardstock with the Lacy Brocade Embossing folder then gave it a light sand to reveal the inside layer of cardstock. Imagine how amazing this would look using the Woodgrain Embossing Folder. I'm yet to try the other two colours - Cherry Cobbler and Gumball Green, but I'm sure they would make a lovely Christmas card.

Double Happiness

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

I made this page using a lot of the new products in the main catalogue. I really love the new Quint-Essential Flower stamp which goes with so many of our punches (see the top left hand corner). To make the title, I stamped the image from the Apothecary Arts set and used a blender pen to colour in the flowers around the outside. The lantern on the bottom right hand corner was cut out from one of my photos.

Ingredients

Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White;
DSP: Summer Smooches;
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Real Red;
Dies: Scallop Envelope Bigz, Labels Collection Framelits;
Stamps: Apothecary Art, Loving Thoughts, Bright Blossoms, Quint-Essential Flower;
Punches: 1-1/4" Scallop Circle, 1-3/4" Scallop Circle, 2-3/8" Scallop Circle, 1" Circle, Elegant Butterfly;
Accessories: Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Brights Glimmer Brads

Christmas

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

I know it seems early, but with only 107 days to go, it's time to start making Christmas cards! I received my box of goodies from the new catalogues on Friday so I spent the weekend trying them out. I've used the beautiful Holiday Frame Textured Embossing folder and Joyous Celebrations stamp set (both from the Holiday Catalogue) to make this card. Then I added some Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine and a small Rhinestone jewel. The colours used are Lucky Limeade, Riding Hood Red and Whisper White.

All the cardstock and ink colours are from the Big Top Birthday DSP.
