Core'dinations Cardstock

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

On the focal point of this card, I've embossed the Early Espresso Core'dinations Cardstock with the Lacy Brocade Embossing folder then gave it a light sand to reveal the inside layer of cardstock. Imagine how amazing this would look using the Woodgrain Embossing Folder. I'm yet to try the other two colours - Cherry Cobbler and Gumball Green, but I'm sure they would make a lovely Christmas card.

Double Happiness

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

I made this page using a lot of the new products in the main catalogue. I really love the new Quint-Essential Flower stamp which goes with so many of our punches (see the top left hand corner). To make the title, I stamped the image from the Apothecary Arts set and used a blender pen to colour in the flowers around the outside. The lantern on the bottom right hand corner was cut out from one of my photos.

Ingredients

Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White;
DSP: Summer Smooches;
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Real Red;
Dies: Scallop Envelope Bigz, Labels Collection Framelits;
Stamps: Apothecary Art, Loving Thoughts, Bright Blossoms, Quint-Essential Flower;
Punches: 1-1/4" Scallop Circle, 1-3/4" Scallop Circle, 2-3/8" Scallop Circle, 1" Circle, Elegant Butterfly;
Accessories: Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Brights Glimmer Brads

Christmas

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

I know it seems early, but with only 107 days to go, it's time to start making Christmas cards! I received my box of goodies from the new catalogues on Friday so I spent the weekend trying them out. I've used the beautiful Holiday Frame Textured Embossing folder and Joyous Celebrations stamp set (both from the Holiday Catalogue) to make this card. Then I added some Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine and a small Rhinestone jewel. The colours used are Lucky Limeade, Riding Hood Red and Whisper White.

Old meets new

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2012 Stampin' Up!®

I've used some retiring items and some new items for this card. The retiring Big Top Birthday Designer Series Paper makes a great backdrop for a birthday card - especially a child's birthday. The stamp set is Memorable Moments which will be available from 1 September. I've also used the big shot's Framelits Labels Collection which will be carried over to the annual catalogue. All the cardstock and ink colours are from the Big Top Birthday DSP.

The Nicest Things

Created by Lorna Images ©1990-2011 Stampin' Up!®

I made this card using The Nicest Things stamp set. It's a great set for a little girl's birthday. This stamp really makes a card special. I stamped it in Staz On Ink and coloured using the blender pen and some Classic Stampin' Pads. Cardstock colours are Pretty In Pink, Bashful Blue and Very Vanilla. Paper is from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Patterns pack. I've also used some Velvet Designer Ribbon (available from December in the Summer Mini) and Basic Pearls Jewels.

Bold Brights and Trinkets

I put this layout together from a Step by Step challenge at Home and Scrapped. I love the Designer Series Paper in the new Idea Book and Catalogue. The patterned paper on this layout is from Big Top Birthday. It uses Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Real Red, Peach Parfait, Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White. I've used these colours in the cardstock and ink on the page. I've also used the stamp sets Sweets for the Sweet and Delicate Doilies.

I also love the new trinkets and I've used one here. I think it adds a nice touch.

I wanted to use the bright colours with these photos because this was a really happy day for me. It was on my trip to Europe three years ago. Ben and I were just about to set off on our bus trip around the continent. These photos are from our week with Ben's family at the Cotswolds in England - it's a really beautiful town full of thatched-roof cottages. It was the first time that I'd seen snow. It was also Easter Sunday, so we had a white Easter, which was very special.

New Products

Wow, it's been a while since I've showed you anything crafty. I've been at home with the flu, so I decided to try out my new big shot.

It's amazing putting in a plain piece of cardstock, cranking the handle and watching a transformed piece of cardstock come out of the other side. It's so much fun and so easy. This is the first card I made and it will be one of the cards we make at my next stamp-a-stack.

Cardstock: Basic Black, Pixie Pink (retiring in August), Soft Suede (a brand new colour debuting in the Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue);
Ink: Soft Suede;
Big Shot: Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions, Sizzlits 4-Pack Dies;
Stamp Set: Picture This (Hostess Level 1 Set - Mini);
Wheel: Very Vintage (Mini)
Punch: Word Window;

This is one of the cards we made at my class last week. I love this new set from the Spring Mini - it's so cute. Apart from the bunny and the tree, there is also an owl and a deer. Just gorgeous. For the multi-coloured image on the tree, I've used the drumming technique.

Ruth's Colour and Sketch Challenge

Created by Lorna
Images ©1990-2009 Stampin' Up!®

I didn't make it back over the weekend because my computer broke down, but I'm back on line and here is the promised card. Ruth Bishop from my team posted this colour and sketch challenge on her blog. The colours are Pacific Blue, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie and Rose Red - four colours that I never would have thought of using together but they've made a very bright card. The stamp sets used are Priceless and the brand new Fresh Cuts. I've also used some Dazzling Diamonds on the butterfly image and white gel around the Scallop Circle.
